The Christy Donoghue trained Morethanafeeling under seven pounds claimer Marc Monaghan, landed the Ratoath Handicap (div 1) at Fairyhouse today, scoring an all-out success.
The grey daughter of Verglas was clear with a furlong to race but runner-up The Fox Tully closed all the way to the line, but failed by a stride or two to catch the winner.
Donoghue later stated “she is an improving filly and has won two of her last three starts. She was covered two weeks ago by Kodiac but we're not sure if she's in foal yet.
“She got shut off twice today and I thought we were beaten. We may go to Limerick in a few weeks time and we'll have to think about Galway too!”
Monaghan subsequently received a two day suspension for using his whip with excessive force and frequency.
