Come On The Lads recorded a third win this year for three different yards when powering home over 1m4f in the William Hill More Top Prices Apprentice Handicap at Dundalk.

The Elzaam gelding won claimers over shorter trips for Jack Davison and Ger O’Leary earlier this year and current owners The Lads Partnership were out in force at the Polytrack to see their colours carried to success.

The 9/2 shot, who joined Gavin Cromwell after scoring at Roscommon in August, made headway up the centre of the track to lead a furlong out and kept on well under Robert Whearty to beat Glyde Ranger by a length and three-quarters. Bright N Shine was a further three-quarters of a length away in third.

Whearty said, “I was a space further back than what I planned, but I was happy enough that they were going along and I was comfortable. I travelled in the best and I just didn't get stuck into him until maybe a furlong and a half down.

"I had nothing really to aim at and was there too soon. He was waiting a small bit when he got there, but galloped away, got the trip fine and handled the surface.

"He had a good run the last day in Galway, and he is probably very versatile on ground, he has won on heavy. Hopefully, he is on the improve."
