Column Of Fire went into plenty of notebooks with a taking display in the bumper at Navan.
He tracked Two Shoe Tom past the three pole and the pair drew clear of the remainder with a quarter of a mile to travel.
Lisa O'Neill sent him on approaching the final furlong and the pair soon asserted.
Column Of Fire, the 5/4 favourite, stayed on well to land the spoils by 13 lengths to give Gordon Elliott and Gigginstown a double on the card after Apple's Jade took the Lismullen Hurdle.
Two Shoe Tom (10/1) had no answer to the winner and finished second some six lengths ahead of Cenotice (11/2).
“He's a nice horse, a big baby,” said Gordon Elliott.
“He'll be a horse that won't do much more this year. He'll have another run in a bumper, I'd say that's all he'll do this year, but he's a horse for the future.
“He was behind the bridle the whole way and only got going at the end.”
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Getaway North (GB), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race.
Getaway North had been pulled up over a furlong out.
