Clopf enjoys change of scenery
Clopf a seven-time winner when trained by Edward O'Grady for Andrew Heffernan, scored on the first start under the care of his owner when landing the two miles handicap.
Heffernan said of the 2007 Punchestown Champion Novice Hurdle winner, 'I took him home after his last run over hurdles at the Fairyhouse Easter meeting, and we were hoping the change of scenery might do him good.'
Wayne Lordan 's mount led early in the straight to beat Dafarabad (5/1-7/2jt fav) by three quarters of a length, and Heffernan added, 'We'll give him a break now as he's had a long season, and will look at bringing him back in the autumn.'
