The Gordon Elliott-trained Clodders Dream added to a maiden hurdle win at Clonmel this spring when making all to take the Easyfix Handicap Hurdle at Tipperary.
The easy-to-back 10/1 chance was far from fluent at the final two hurdles in the straight but kept on strongly under Sam Ewing to beat Ballywilliam Boy by a length and three-quarters. Routine Excellence was a further length and a quarter back in third with For Fear Of Frost completing the places in fourth.
Ewing said, “He travelled and jumped very well on the whole bar a couple.
“He’s a lovely big horse and will be better over a fence.
“He’s definitely improving away. I was unlucky on him in Perth the last day so it’s good that’s he’s got his head in front today. He’s a very straight forward big horse so hopefully it’s onwards and upwards.”
