Cleere at his best aboard Sixteen Forty Two
Punters were kept happy when 7/2 favourite Sixteen Forty Two came home in front of the Paddy Farnan Memorial Handicap in the hands of the in-form Michael Cleere.
Cleere produced David Wachman’s charge to challenge over a furlong out and the pair kept on well to get up and lead close home and hold off the fast finishing Izagonawin by half a length.
Winning trainer Wachman stated: “The race really suited him and they went a good pace.”
“He got a fantastic ride from Michael [Cleere] and we’ll try our hand in a better handicap next.”
