Cin Cin opened her account at the sixth time of asking when staying on well to take the Ashtown House Stud EBF Fillies Maiden.
Emmet McNamara elected to keep her close to the pace set by Burnt Sienna as uneasy 11/8 favourite Palace Of Winds struggled to settle in behind.
The 5/1 chance (8/1 in the morning) struck the front on the approach to the straight, and galloped on well to beat the ‘jolly’ by three and a quarter lengths. Lady Rutherford (20/1) made a pleasing debut staying on nicely into third another half-length back.
The daughter of Exceed And Excel is trained by Andrew Heffernan for his wife Margaret, and he said, “The ground was dead against her in Galway, and the uphill finish there didn’t help either. I think she just gets the mile and a half.”
