Her sire, Rock Of Gibraltar was a very easy winner of the Guineas in soft ground back in 2002 at the Curragh and Rock On Ciara has no problem with testing going either as she showed when bolting up in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire European Breeders Fund Fillies Handicap.
Joe Murphy 's six-year-old, reportedly in foal to Rip Van Winkle, with Shane Foley up again (rode her a winner at Listowel early this month) was never far from the pace in this seven furlong contest. She led a furlong out before effortlessly stretching away to beat Redoubtable.
Murphy said: "I was a bit worried about the ground and she'll go for the Stillorgan Handicap at Leopardstown now. Hopefully we'll be able to get a bit of black-type with her. She's an improving filly and she's very game."
Shane Foley had a double last night of course for Mick Halford on Regulation and Massiyn so it's been a Derby Festival to remember thus far for the young Kilkenny man. (GC & EM)
