Chutzpal led his rivals a merry dance when landing the finale at Killarney this evening for Henry de Bromhead and Billy Lee.
The well-backed 2/1 favourite (7/1 this morning) kicked from the front early in the straight and kept on well inside the final furlong to record a five-and-a-half length success over Chatterbox
It was the winner's first win since November 2022 on his second outing since joining de Bromhead. He had been fourth over a couple of furlongs shorter at Fairyhouse last month.
"I thought he ran well in Fairyhouse when he travelled ok but I felt that going back left-handed today was a better suit for him, and he had blinkers on. He was also up in trip so had a lot in his favour,” said Lee.
"I was very happy with him through the race and he travelled really well. I was trying to keep them on the stretch coming around the last bend as he was handling the track so well and I kept the revs up.
"He is a grand horse who will hopefully win on the flat again and also over hurdles."
