"The last horse to win five for me was Cash Or Casualty and he won his fifth at Listowel. The last one to win three in a row was All Ablaze, and this horse has done both before the end of April," said trainer Damian English after his Tribal Path brought up a hat-trick under Donagh O'Connor in the concluding Mobile Betting At 188BET Handicap at Dundalk.
Tribal Path, the 9/4 favourite, ahead of well-backed 3/1 chance Ishebayorgrey held off that rival by a head after again making all.
"He'll go straight to Chester. He loves it. He's so game and sticks his head out. They came at him from both sides but he wasn't going to get beat," added English.
"Hopefully he gets a good draw at Chester and runs a big race."
R. Coakley, rider of Chillie Billie (GB) trained by J.Larkin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount weakened quickly up the straight.
W.M. Lordan, rider of Starlostinacloud trained by David Marnane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right.
