Cheek-pieces see One Of Three home
Cheek-pieces did the trick for One Of Three who made all from her rail draw of eighteen in the Mallow Handicap under Gary Carroll.
The Tamarisk four-year-old withheld the challenge of Option Be by two lengths to land a few bets having been taken from a morning price of 20/1 into 14s.
Trainer Michael Mulvany handles One Of Three for his father, Larry and he said: "She had been going well at home but she's a little idle. Declan McDonogh, who rode her last time said that she wasn't that anxious to run.
"With that in mind we put the cheek-pieces on her and they worked. When she got an easy lead I knew she'd stay going. The draw makes an awful difference out there."
One Of Three was justifying Mulvany's decision to take her down to Cork, a four and a half hour journey from his base in Kells, Co. Meath.
