Recently crowned champion jockey for the fifth time Colin Keane completed a Dundalk double today, combining with trainer Ger Lyons to land the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (C&G) Maiden on Juddmonte Farms' Formal Display (8/13f).
Front-running Cathal - running in first-time blinkers, led and while he made Formal Display work hard for victory, the winner scored by a half-length at the line.
Shane Lyons, representing his brother, reported “we would like to have got that maiden win out of him before now but he got sore shins after we ran him so we had to let him mature. He likes good ground and has really appreciated that surface. He gets the mile and probably a bit further next year.
“We’ve always liked him and he’s one to look forward to next year. He has a lovely pedigree.
“The first two have pulled well clear of the third and I’d say they are two nice horses.”
