Chabal makes good debut
Chabal was the one for money this morning for the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden but on track support arrived for Dynasty However in this case the early birds caught the worm as Chabal made a good debut to score by a length and a quarter from Behtarini Even money to eight to thirteen, Dynasty was a further short head adrift in third.
Kevin Manning got to the front on the Galileo colt over a furlong out and in the colours of Lady O'Reilly, Jim Bolger's stable jockey kept his mount up to the job to prevail.
Bolger said: "He is a very nice two-year-old and he is a horse with a future. He very slightly tweaked a muscle when he was cast in his box and had to miss a maiden on Derby weekend. He was a little raw still and he is not certain to run again this year but we'll see how he is in a few weeks."
William Hill were certainly impressed and they go 25/1 about Chabal for the 2010 2,000 Guineas. For the 2010 Derby the same firm offer the same price of 25/1.
