The opening Lixnaw Fabrications Structural Steel Contractors Handicap at Killarney today attracted just four runners with Dermot Weld's Casual causing a 7/1 upset, under Pat Smullen.

Casual, a daughter of Nayef, raced in last before making progress early in the straight, eventually getting his head in front inside the final furlong, scoring a length and a quarter win over Greannmhar

Odds-on punters had their fingers burnt in this event, with 4/9 favourite Francisco Goya managing a well held third.

Winning trainer Weld was absent for the success.
