Cash renews successful association with Moore
Native Clan struck another blow for punters at Fairyhouse when staying on bravely under Barry Cash to just deny Farringdon in the Bambury Bookmakers Ashbourne Handicap Hurdle.
The Arthur Moore-trained gelding, backed from 2/1 to 13/8 favourite, was strongly pressed after the final flight but rallied gamely in the closing stages to prevail by a neck.
However Cash was adjudged to have used his whip excessively and was given a two day ban.
'He's a very genuine horse, and will stick to handicap hurdles this season before going chasing. It was a game performance, and it's great to have Barry on board as he hasn't ridden a winner for us for a while,' said Moore.
