Casey's Rock sinks Ballinrobe rivals
Peter Casey's Fingal Rock ran away with the Costello McDermott Handicap at Ballinrobe this evening, scoring an effortless nine lengths win, under the trainer's son Oliver Casey.
Previously runner-up at Leopardstown on Thursday evening, today's race never looked in doubt for the daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar, who stretched clear from two furlongs out, to win easily, from Ghent
Casey was represented by his son Francis (and brother to the winning rider) who stated “Fingal Rock was 4lbs well-in on ratings following Thursday's run so we had to run here. She stays well but we've no immediate plans from here.”
