Carberry completes Punchestown double
Jockey Paul Carberry completed a quick double this evening when Whats Up Gorden from the Adrian Maguire stable landed the Tote Trifecta Rollover Handicap Hurdle.
Carberry came with a well timed run to lead on the run-in and score by a length and three parts.
Winning trainer Adrian Maguire said afterwards: “I thought he was in trouble from the start as he had a lot of ground to make up over a short a trip but Paul [Carberry] gave him an absolute peach.”
“Credit to the jockey and to the horse. I am delighted for the owner Mona Masterson and I would like to thank her for her patience and support.”
“It’s great to get back on the winning trail. He’ll go back over fences now.”
“We’ll keep the Plate in mind for him now.”
