Cannon blows rivals away
Trainer Noel Meade kicked off Down Royal’s November meeting with a win in the opening Eventsec 3YO Maiden Hurdle thanks to his second string in the race, Blue Cannon
Meade’s Leroy Parker started 5/2 favourite in the race but finished third to Blue Cannon (15/2), under Davy Condon.
Afterwards Meade stated “I thought out of the two of mine, Leroy Parker would handle the ground but I wasn’t sure about Blue Cannon.”
“Blue Cannon was slicker to jump though and will now be kept on the go during the winter but will have a break of a month or five weeks now.”
