Candy to Byrnes and a winning start over jumps for Trip
Born By The Sea (centre) fell here. Both he and Liam Gilligan were ok. Turnpike Trip (near) won under Davy Russell

Turnpike Trip (evens out to 5/2) took the Mallowprint.ie Maiden Hurdle at Cork on his debut for the Charles Byrnes yard.
Under Davy Russell he beat the Willie Mullins hope Golazo (3/1 into 5/4 favourite) by a length.
There was fifteen lengths then back to Florrie Webb (5s into 3s) in third. Born By The Sea could have been the one to grab the main headlines though, only for falling at the last when bang there with every chance.
Said Byrnes on the former Henry Candy racer (a 62K buy in October): "We had him ready a long time ago and he kept getting small setbacks and that's why he hasn't been out before now. He'll probably mix it between the flat and jumping for the summer.
"The ground out there is nice for him - good ground and he wouldn't want it too quick. He's a nice horse."
