Ganapathi (11/10f) made it two from two over fences, as he ran out a comfortable winner of the feature at Wexford, the Wexford Racecourse Family Day September 3rd Novice Chase.
A winner at the venue on his debut over fences, the Willie Mullins trained six-year-old went back up in trip to two-and-a-half miles this afternoon.
Third in the early stages under Kieran Callaghan, the son of Samum took closer order with just over a circuit to race and soon improved into a share of the lead.
He went a few lengths clear from three out and further increased his advantage in the straight, coming home nine lengths to the good in the colours of Joe and Marie Donnelly.
The front-running Effernock Fizz (returned 6/1 from early shows of 28/1) had to settle for second under Conor Orr, while Fest Deiz was another fourteen lengths back in third.
"It was straightforward enough," Callaghan said.
"Effernock Fizz was always going to go pretty hard in front and I was happy enough to sit behind her. Every time she slowed up I went to her. I just tried to go an even gallop all the way. He did it nicely in the end.
"That's my sixth winner now and I’m full-time with Willie."
