Cairdiuil back in winners' enclosure
Joseph O'Brien produced Cairdiuil with a well-timed run to claim the Tadgh Kelly Carpentry Handicap at Killarney.
O'Brien was seen at his best on the Iggy Madden-trained gelding as he ground out victory.
The five-year-old had to work to get to the lead just inside the final furlong and kept on well to hold the late run of Tres Froide by half a length.
The winner was recording his first victory since landing a Sligo claimer on his racecourse debut for Jim Bolger as a two-year-old.
