Cairde Aris gains his maiden win

A strong market move for Isabellaesprincess (around 7s this morning into 9/4 favourite) was foiled by the John Kiely-trained and Andrew McNamara-ridden Cairde Aris in the Ingard Point Maiden Hurdle at Wexford.
Owned by the Friends Again Syndicate, the successful Definite Article gelding certainly didn't go off un-backed himself as the 3/1 'second in,' and on the run-in he got the better of the 'jolly' by three lengths.
"I think he is the makings of a nice horse. He looks a chaser down the road and that's why I'm not worried about winning a maiden hurdle with him now," said Kiely.
"He might run in the Martinstown Opportunity race over two and a half at Punchestown, that should suit him.
"He will continue through the summer. The syndicate are Cork based and they were also involved with Friends Of Gerald. They are very supporting owners and this horse liked the ground today."
A. Ring, rider of Goodluck Noel trained by R.P.Rath, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled.
S.A. Shortall, rider of Marvellous Moment trained by J.H. Culloty, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung left throughout.
