Caduceus another for punters at Naas
Favourite backers continued on their merry way at Naas when Caduceus joined Grey Soldier and Captain Cee Bee as market-leading winners when he landed the More Ante-Post Value On Betfair Maiden Hurdle by thirteen lengths.
The Paddy Flood-ridden Caduceus and Pay The Bounty had this two mile three furlong event to themselves from a fair way out but the former showed stamina in abundance to put the issue beyond doubt from before the last.
Winning trainer, Pat Hughes was a happy man afterwards saying: "He'd keep going all day - there's definitely no need to do a test on him for a speed gene! He is a nice horse from a great old family - the Carrigeens (he is a half-brother to that good mare, Carrigeen Kalmia).
"I don't think we need to step him up in trip yet but hopefully he'll be a good three mile chaser in time (he's already won a point-to-point)."
