Byrne seen to good effect on Strandfield
Strandfield Lady successful at Leopardstown seven days ago, again showed her liking for the Foxrock venue when taking the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Handicap under a confident ride by Daryl Byrne.
The daughter of Pairumani Star came from well off the pace, leading inside the final furlong to beat Flattery by a length and a half.
Winning trainer Harry Rogers said afterwards: “She was entitled to win, Daryl had her on the outer on the better ground which helped.”
“She might go to Galway for a mile and a half contest on the Wednesday or Thursday if the weather stays dry.”
