Bucket delivers more joy to Madden clan

Shake The Bucket (14s into 10s) landed his sixth win on the polytrack at Dundalk to go with a Tramore maiden hurdle and a Dromahane point-to-point when supplying Tom 'Socks' Madden with his third victory in the concluding Crowne Plaza Jockey & Trainer Awards Handicap.
There was a good tempo set here by Shabra Emperor but he'd come back to his rivals by the two pole.
At this stage 'Socks' was beginning to switch his sister Sarah Ann's Ashkalani gelding away from the rail. Super Sling was soon making his bid for glory under Wayne Lordan but young Madden got Shake The Bucket up near the line to triumph by half a length.
The well-backed pair Equation Of Time and Cottesloe finished third and fourth respectively.
After a great win for the Madden clan – Patricia the mother of the family having bred Shake The Bucket – it was left to her husband, trainer 'Boots' to say: "That's the ten pound gone, it being his third winner, and he only turned sixteen recently. He might get another ride now!
"This lad's form has been in and out and I don't know why. Maybe he's had too much weight on his back and he wouldn't have won tonight without that ten pounds taken off.
"He loves it here. He won five before tonight and he'll be back again." (MG & EM)
