Gordon Elliott's flying start to the new season has slowed up in recent weeks but his Broughtons Bandit (16/1) returned the yard to the winners' enclosure when landing the EY Beginners Chase at Tramore today.
Ridden by Keith Donoghue, the son of Kyllachy stated on well from two out for a four and three parts of a length win over Lettermacaward
Elliott wasn't present but Donoghue later stated "I rode him last week over hurdles and today he was a different horse. He travelled and jumped brilliant and in the end he actually did it easy, he was good and brave over the last two.
"I thought I was holding Johnny (Burke, Lettermacaward) and the jump at the last definitely sealed it. The better ground today suited, he likes that good ground."
