Brother Gold landed an on-course touch as he took the bumper at Cork, the Ticket Sales Online @ corkracecourse.ie Flat Race, under Noel McParlan for Michael O'Hare.
Third on his last start at Ballinrobe the grey six-year-old son of Generous opened at 20/1 on-course before being backed in to 14's at the off.
Having tracked the leaders throughout on the inner he was fourth approaching the straight.
He was ridden to challenge from the three furlong pole and he hit the front over a furlong out, keeping on well under pressure to win by two and a quarter lengths. Grangeclare Rosa (9/4 to 11/4) had to settle for second under Patrick Mullins after attempting to make all while the Tony Mullins trained newcomer Cloghala kept on well to take third, a further four and a quarter lengths back at 33/1.
Michael O'Hare said afterwards: "He didn't handle the track at Ballinrobe the last day but we always thought he was a nice horse and will go chasing in time."
The winner is a full-brother to five time winner Gold Bullet who earlier finished third in the race won by Ballychorus
