Bride brings up double for Smullen and Weld
Ransomed Bride completed a double for Pat Smullen and Dermot Weld when battling well to land the Meath Handicap at Navan.
The Lady O'Reilly-owned filly saw off the determined challenge of Gleaming Silver in the final furlong to get home by a head.
"She's a big honest filly and stays going," said Kris Weld, son of the trainer.
"She'll go for something similar and could go back to Dundalk where she won her maiden."
Smullen and Weld had struck an hour earlier with Sense Of Purpose in the fillies maiden.
