Braddish eyes quick turnaround for surprise winner Brogine

Brogine was a surprise 25/1 winner of the Tim Kelly Group Handicap Hurdle, and maybe turned out again quickly at Limerick on Thursday.
Trained in Co Limerick by Seamus Braddish, the daughter of Milan won a bumper at Ballinrobe in 2015.
She got off the mark over flights at Gowran in June of 2017, and ran just three times last year, finishing a solid third to Black Label at Limerick on her most recent start.
Settled towards rear by Cathal Landers, the nine-year-old bay took closer order on the outer from the third last flight.
She improved to lead on the approach to the last and had a good battle with Deburrafield on the run-in, getting on top inside the final 150 yards, going on to score by two and a half lengths.
Deburrafield, who was also returned at 25/1, had to settle for second under Robbie Power (standing in for Jonathan Moore who was earlier stood down for the day).
The front two went thirteen lengths clear of Whatsyourstatus (5/1) in third, while Creadan Grae (8/1) completed the places in fourth. Callthebarman who was sent off the 4/1 favourite, was beaten along way from home, and finished a very disappointing thirteenth.
"She was game and we knew from her work at home she was going to give us a good run, even though she hadn't run in 12 months," said Braddish.
"This is a lucky track for her. She won her bumper here and was second on her first run over hurdles here so we were very hopeful coming today.
"She's in at Limerick on Thursday and she'll run if she's okay because there isn't a race for her for maybe six weeks after that. We'll wait and see.
"She's a summer mare and she'd like the ground even a little bit better than it was today. It was good ground and she's even be better on top of the ground."
STEWARDS REPORTS
Owing to low-lying sun, the Stewards granted permission for the hurdle past the stands to be omitted from this race
A. Ring, rider of Classic Escape trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped a bit left.
D.F. O'Regan, rider of Steel Cap trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount pulled up lame.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Callthebarman, trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.
Due to a medical emergency in the parade ring, the Stewards gave permission for runners to go directly from the stable yard to the track and be mounted there for this race.
