As he completed a Dundalk double on Sign Of The Kodiac in the Download The Award-Winning At The Races App Race Pat Smullen drew level as the leader of the winter series on the closing night with Colin Keane.
Smullen, earlier on the mark aboard St Stephens Green for Emmet Mullins, here combined with British handler James Given in one of the night's features.
The great Gordon Lord Byron made Sign Of The Kodiac work for his victory but at the line there was half a length between them.
"On his old form he would have been good enough. All credit to Gordon Lord Byron he served it up to me over the last half furlong," said Smullen.
"He's plenty quick this horse and has a lot of natural early speed. He was just idling a little bit in front and I was always hopeful that he'd pick up if something joined him.
"He did it well. James was very hopeful of a big run and now that ensures him a run in the final. He ran second in the race last year on Good Friday so that's where he'll head now."
