Born Invincible stayed on best to deny Johnny Levins and Joey Sheridan a quick double in Division ll of the Lacey's Plumbing And Heating Supplies Apprentices Handicap at Naas.
The Ger O'Leary trained mare kept on well up the rail to lead close home under Dylan Browne McMonagle. A winner at Limerick in 2020, she had been showing up well of late and hinted that her turn was close.
Drawn in stall 1, McMonagle elected to stay on the far side despite most of the action throughout the earlier races having unfolded up the near side. That decision was fully justified as he drove his mount home to win well.
Assistant Adrian Joyce said:- “That's brilliant. Sean (Dalton) was with me when I started and now with Ger, I'm delighted to have a winner for him.
“She gets a race every year for him and hopefully she might pick up another one. She wants soft ground and that's the key to her.”
