Lady Boomerang battled back gamely to land the spoils in the mile handicap for three-year-olds at Killarney.
Colin Keane got a nice runner up the inner to lead two furlongs from home on the John Geoghegan-trained filly in the mile contest.
She was joined passing the furlong pole by 3/1 favourite Global Pass and there was nothing between the pair in the closing stages.
Lady Boomerang just found a bit more close home for a head success.
The 10/1 winner had been well held at Sligo last time but was a promising third on her handicap debut at Gowran previously and was dropping back in trip today.
"It was a big difference from her last run at Sligo when she was too keen and I had never seen her pull like that. She doesn't do it at home but was geed up for some reason,” said Geoghegan.
"Colin got her relaxed and she could have backed out of it along the rails there but she was good and tough.
"She has only run six or seven times so should still improve, and we'll find something similar for her next.
"The owner/breeder is delighted as he has the mare at home and has a half-sister by Dawn Approach and a half-brother by Dream Ahead. It might put a bit more value on them and it's his first winner as an owner."
