Bonheur scores as Mast loses signal
Odds-on shot Rose Bonheur (1/2f) had a little luck on her side when losing her maiden tag in the Racing At Tipperary Maiden at Tipperary, making the most of Balmont Mast #8217;s exit close home.
Rose Bonheur was possibly beginning to gain the upper hand over Balmont Mast (upsides at the time, racing along the running-rail) but was helped when her main rival attempted to run out through the rail inside the final furlong.
Rose Bonheur, under Declan McDonogh, went on to win by three parts of a length over Marvada while Balmont Mast, which did not actually break through the running-rail, placed sixth but was subsequently disqualified for taking the wrong course.
Afterwards winning trainer Kevin Prendergast stated “Rose Bonheur’snext run will be in the Greenlands Stakes at The Curragh, provided there is a good ease in the ground. I wouldn’t want the ground any faster that today – she is very versatile trip-wise and might actually stay a mile on a round track.”
