Trainer/breeder Jim Bolger completed a double - both winners ran in the colours of his wife Jackie Bolger, at Navan today as his Ceol Na Nog landed the Follow Tom's Walking Wish On Facebook Handicap under stable jockey Kevin Manning.
The daughter of Teofilo had won prizemoney on her three previous starts and became the second Bolger inmate to gain a first win today (following Pirolo s earlier win under Rory Cleary) when comfortably beating Full Court Press by three and a quarter lengths.
Bolger's travelling head man Ger Flynn later commented “she was probably entitled to beat the second horse (Full Court Press) as she was 5lb better off than when he beat her in Roscommon.
“She's a genuine filly, has been placed three times and loved it out in front and loved the ground.
“Hopefully it's onwards and upwards with her as she has a beautiful pedigree.”
