Bob brings off a gamble
Mighty Bob landed a touch in the Thoroughbred County Novice Handicap Chase for Co. Dublin trainer, Ger Farrell to give the stable a first winner since Precious Music won a private sweepstakes race at Fairyhouse back in May 2003.
Making all under Conor Maxwell, the lightly-weighted son of Bob's Return, backed in from 33/1 in the morning into 9/1, stayed on well from the last to account for Skeheenarinky by four lengths.
Farrell said: "He was placed in all three of his point-to-points and then he got a leg after running in the pointers bumper at Fairyhouse in 2007. That was his first handicap there."
