Blaze Of Fire scored for the father-son combination of Tommy and Paul Carberry when winning the Curracloe Handicap Hurdle at Wexford today.
The 3/1 shot out-battled Marshim on the run-in, with 7/4f Our Girl Lucy back in third.
Afterwards Carberry Snr stated “that was a good win and he did it well. The problem was he didn't battle before, but you couldn't say that about him today.
“He previously had a habit of putting his head in the air and not giving 100% but he probably didn't like heavy ground either. He was fresh and well in himself today.”
Carberry Jnr rarely misses a chance at mischief and afterwards congratulated his dad joking “Happy Father's Day!”
