The Michael McDonogh trained Black Zero claimed his fifth career success at Naas today, winning the Eastcoast Seafood & Gouldings Handicap Chase under jockey Mark Enright.
The son of Blueprint had completed a hat-trick of chase wins in November/December 2014 and today added his fifth career win and his first under Enright.
Enright later said “he travelled sweet with the blinkers back on him today and I said today two miles with the blinkers I’m going to get a bit of cover and let him rock up the straight.
“He doesn’t really quicken but he stays and was idling up the straight.
“Michael’s not here - I’m sure I’ll speak to him later and he’ll be delighted with that. He’s a very nice man and does well with the horses he has and it’s lovely to ride a winner for him as he’s been good to me lately.”
