- Big flat success for Gigginstown with Hen Night
Big flat success for Gigginstown with Hen Night
Hen Night shrugged aside an 84 day layoff to land the Listed Platinum Stakes under Wayne Lordan with English raider, the even money favourite, St Moritz only fifth. Famous cut out the pace and the market-leader had every chance, if good enough, to get past up the straight but Hen Night was able to master the pace-setter a furlong out and the Gigginstown House Stud-owned daughter of Danehill Dancer went on to account for Maybe Grace by two and a half lengths.
Winning trainer, David Wachman said: "She had a break since the spring time but she is progressive and seems to go on any ground. I'll have to discuss it with the owners but I wouldn't mind taking her to America and I have a couple of targets in mind out there.
"I'd be hoping to have a busy autumn with my team after having a quite enough time."
