Berry records treble
It was an evening to remember for jockey Fran Berry who completed a treble when taking the concluding Avoca Maiden aboard Simkana
Berry sent the 7/4 favourite to the front over a furlong out and the pair kept on strongly to post a two and a half length win over midnight Soprano.
Winning trainer Oxx said afterwards: “She’s a half sister to Sindaar and that was the plan this evening.”
“She has improved from her first run, she stays well and loves the fast ground.”
“We’ll see if we can find a fillies handicap there’s not to many around.”
Berry's first leg of his treble came aboard Smart Striking when she took the opening race on today's card for trainer John Oxx.
Berry was on the mark again when getting Napa Starr up to take the Fernleigh Handicap by a neck.
