Berry records a double at the beach
Niall ‘Boots’ Madden was in the winner’s enclosure this evening after his charge The Hamptons ran out 3 length winner of the O’Neills Sports Handicap in the hands of Fran Berry for owner J P McManus making it a double on the day for the jockey.
Frank Berry racing manager to McManus said afterwards: “We’re delighted he won. He doesn’t come out of the gates well so no stalls here was a big help.”
“We will try and find another little race for him, he needs good ground.”
Berry’s earlier winner came with the Dave Marnane trained Qadar after he took the opening race on this afternoons card, the Ladbrokes.com Handicap.
