Indications are strong that Fran Berry has made a full recovery from his ankle injury suffered last November when managing a 100% strike-rate on his two rides at Dundalk this evening.
Berry, who was successful on Fairy Wing on his first ride back, partnered Regal Tramp to complete his double in the Irish News Club Call Handicap at Dundalk this evening, his first rides since suffering his injury in Japan five months ago.
Following Regal Tramp's win, her trainer Vincent Ward stated “she deserved it. That's the trip she wants and stamina is her forte. I'm delighted, as my horses have been coughing for eight weeks but they are coming back now.
“She is in at Leopardstown on Wednesday and Fran gave her a great spin. Happy days!"
Jockey Gary Carroll received a two days suspension in the race for riding carelessly in an incident in the race involving his mount The Frog Prince and both Word For Word and Dancing On Turf
