Willie Mullins completed a treble at Listowel this afternoon as Ben Button readily justified evens favouritism in the concluding Devon Inn Hotel Handicap Hurdle.
The seven-year-old gelding was completing his own personal hat-trick having previously scored at both Galway and Sligo, and was given a very confident ride by Ruby Walsh.
He struck the front at the final flight, and was ridden out to beat Seskinane by a length and a half, with the front-running Icantsay a neck away in third.
Mullins said, “He likes the soft ground and he likes a trip. There is a race for him at Gowran Park in a few weeks and hopefully it doesn’t come too soon.”
The champion trainer was on the mark earlier with Coquin Mans and Lagostovegas
