Beg La Eile springs surprise at Roscommon
Beg La Eile may have taken eight attempts to win a point-to-point but she was rather quicker at getting into gear on the racecourse proper, landing the Boyle Mares (Ladies) Flat Race under Adrienne Foley on her initial attempt under rules.
The victorious daughter of Lahib proved stronger than Takeyourcapoff up the straight and she crossed the line two lengths in front of that second favourite.
Winning trainer Roger McGrath from Aglish, Cappoquin, Co. Waterford said: "It took her ages to win a point and if she'd been placed tonight we would have been happy. We ran her here to see how she'd get on and she is a chaser of the future."
