Trainer Patrick Prendergast has his eye on a hurdling campaign for today’s Leopardstown winner Beechmount Whisper which landed the Bulmers Live At Leopardstown Handicap under jockey Gary Halpin.
The son of Kodiac has proven a consistent and likeable sort in recent times and today gained his third win of the year when poking his nose in front near the line for a head win.
Prendergast later stated “he ran a great race the last day - I know a lot of people were disappointed but he was drawn badly and came terrible wide in the straight.
"He can't quicken and we are forced to ride him up with the pace. He'll probably step up to a mile and a quarter, and we can ride more of a race over that trip.
"He's a big horse who is up to carrying weight and I'm hoping the owner will let me run him in a maiden hurdle one of these days! He's good at it (jumping)."
