Beach off the mark
Banna Beach ended a "long wait" for his first victory when claiming the Anglo Printers Handicap Hurdle in good style at Downpatrick.
The Seamus Neville-trained gelding was always prominent under 'Slippers' Madden and kicked on before the second last for a cosy success.
"It's been a long wait. The ground has been against him and we were just waiting for a bit of better ground ? he's a summer horse really," said assistant trainer Michael Murphy.
"We were supposed to go to Uttoxeter on Sunday but came here instead. He just gallops and jumps and we'll probably switch him back to chasing as he's better over fences."
