Bay Of Kotor has the winning habit
Confidence can do a lot for either man or beast and Bay Of Kotor who looked like he'd struggle to gain that elusive success for quite a while, made it two wins in just three days when he landed the Christmas Greetings Handicap Hurdle at Navan under Andrew Thornton.
John Larkin is the third trainer to handle the son of Key Of Luck and here the five-year-old turned out under a fixed six pound penalty having held on by three parts of a length and survived a steward's enquiry at Fairyhouse last Saturday.
It was easier here for the 9/4 favourite (from 11/4, well-backed as he was on Saturday) as he led at the last and kept on strongly to comfortably beat Lilywhitedancer by five and a half lengths.
Larkin said: "He's a half-brother to Baby Blue Eyes (won five races). In fact he's a half-brother to two winners of big money on the flat (Bravest Lad, an eight time winner being the other).
"I just can't get a stalls cert for him.
"We'll keep him to his own company now. We won't get carried away but I wish I had more like him." (AM & EM)
