Three horse trainer Jimmy Barcoe registered his third career winner in the third race of the day at Fairyhouse today when his Allez Vic landed the Visit www.fairyhouse.ie Handicap Hurdle, under Brian Hayes.
Hayes was at work on the winner from the last and the pair eventually saw off the challenge of runner-up Vasco Du Mee by a length and a quarter.
Gowran based Barcoe is a graduate from the Jim Bolger academy and regarding his three time winner Allez Vic, later stated “he was good and tough and won off his highest rating of 109 now and is progressing away. He won well the last day too and seems to go on any ground.
“I thought Brian was good on him: he jumps better with a horse upsides him and Brian waited a bit, which was a good idea, to go for the stick just before the last.
He'll probably stay hurdling next season.”
