Wayne Lordan made headlines recently having joined Aidan O’Brien’s all-conquering Ballydoyle yard and the jockey completed a double at Dundalk today when steering the Michael Browne trained More Kudos to win the concluding Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay Handicap (div 2).
Group 1 and Royal Ascot winning jockey Lordan has now ridden five winners since announcing his move on November 8 and having earlier steered Adieux to win for trainer Pat Martin, doubled his tally in the finale when forcing More Kudos to the front in the dying strides.
Following the race, Browne stated “I knew he wouldn’t be far away as he was in good form - never better. He wants that surface, good ground and ran a few times on soft and didn’t handle it.
“He’ll come back here in two weeks times for another similar race and I think he can win again. The handicapper can’t do an awful lot with him and it’s great that he’s won.”
