Bag beats his elders
Baglioni came home better than Philario (had made a fair bit of the running) to take the Leopardstown Aertel Page 277 Handicap by a length under Chris Hayes with a big gap of seven lengths back to the third-placed Castle Bar Sling
Having his first start in the colours of Lee Man Bun and from the Friarstown Stables of Kevin Prendergast, the formerly successful juvenile with Ger Lyons was purchased to go to Hong Kong but has ended up staying in Ireland.
Prendergast said: "It is good for a three-year-old to be able to beat the older horses at this stage. We'll see if we can find a Listed race for him now. It was lovely to get him and he is the first horse I've trained for Mr Lee. I think he wants better ground (won on the all-weather for Ger Lyons)."
