Baffin Island leaves punters in the cold
The Dessie Hughes bandwagon gained further momentum at Thurles today, when his 25/1 chance Baffin Island under Roger Loughran, completed a double, for the trainer, in the Cashel Maiden Hurdle.
Easy to back 7/4f Uimhiraceathair disappointed in seventh, while Baffin Island, under Roger Loughran arrived late to deny Fosters Cross by a length and a half and provide Hughes with his fifth winner in two days following his treble at Punchestown on Monday.
Closer reading of Baffin Island's (paid 52/1 on the Tote) point to point form reveal an unlucky tale while the win was the 14th of the season for jockey Roger Loughran.
